There’s a Petition Circulating for Barbara Walters to Join NYE Because 2020

Happy (almost) New Year! There’s a petition on the internet for Barbara Walters to join Ryan Seacrest for the New Year’s Eve celebration. Why? "I'm Barbara Walters, and this is 2020.”

Seacrest hosts Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve on ABC each year and Barbara Walters cohosted ABC’s 20/20 for a whopping 25 years.

So, naturally, the internet thinks Walters would be the perfect fit to welcome 2020. In fact, there’s multiple petitions on the internet requesting the same mission.

“Well, my friends, as the year 2020 approaches we must take action,” the petition on Change.org reads. “We must rise and declare that for the year 2020 the great Barbara Walters WILL snatch that microphone and we WILL hear her say: ‘I’m Barbara Walters, and this is 2020.’”

The petitions have a bevy of people on board, but it’s unclear what Walters thinks of the idea herself.
