Katy Perry is looking back at the highs and lows of the last year.

The "Firework" singer shared a lengthy, emotional message on Instagram on Monday (September 22) reflecting on the past year since the release of her album 143, sharing photos from her Lifetimes Tour and more significant moments from the era. 143, Perry's seventh studio album which features singles "Woman's World," "Lifetimes" and "I'm His, He's Mine," came out September 20, 2024.

While admitting that she is "mostly a futurist" who is "not one for anniversary posts," she said it would be "negligent" to let the date pass without acknowledging "the incredible impact this last year has had on me."

"Records are snapshots of an artist trying to tell their story of where they are now or have been, and hope someone will hear themselves in some of the messages. 143 to me was literally saying I love you to my fans. Looking back now, I realize it has been all about reconnecting to my fans through these songs and through this wonderful tour that has given me the opportunity to see so many of you again and for the first time."

Perry, who split from her longtime fiancé Orlando Bloom earlier this summer, noted that the past year has been a "rollercoaster" but that she and fans have been side by side "wherever the ride took us," expressing that she is proud of the community they have created together and continue to grow into.

"History is important, we learn from history, we are reminded of how to and what not to do when we look back," she said. "We celebrated the wins and reflect on the losses. All of it is valuable. Let's hope we get to evolve together for years to come and at the end of it all be proud and at peace with how we tried our best in this imperfect world."

The singer, who previously explained the significance of 143 meaning "I love you," said she's been seeing it's inverse 341 recently and has led to her asking "do I love myself, finally?" Her answer, she said, comes "anew every day."

"Today's answer is yes. I am proud of where and how I have landed in this moment," she said. "Proud of myself, proud of my fans and proud that I keep on swinging. Wrapping up the South American leg once again reminded me of what's real. There's no real coincidence I would be doing that exactly one year from when I put out the album and played Rock in Rio in Brazil."

She continued, "Through my years in the spotlight, I have been beloved, tested and tried. That's the journey. I am blessed to know that there's always two sides to each coin, and I learn that even when I hit tails, somehow through it all, I keep making wishes. [...] Whatever comes next, I'm letting it unfold naturally. No forcing, no controlling — just trusting the angels, the fans, and the music to guide me where I'm meant to go. Please know this: my love for you is unconditional, and I couldn't do any of this without you."

Reps for Perry and Bloom confirmed in July that the former couple had called it quits after around nine years together. Despite their split, they continue to show support for each other amid their co-parenting journey. They share 5-year-old daughter Daisy Dove.
