Pilot Is Calm During Southwest Airlines 1380 Emergency Landing

The calm voice of pilot and former Navy aviator Tammie Jo Schults is remarkable.

On Tuesday, April 17, 2018 while operating between LaGuardia Airport and Dallas Love Field, Southwest Airlines flight 1380 experienced a catastrophic uncontained engine failure at 30,000ft. The debris caused damaged to the left wing, and broke a cabin window. As of this time one passenger is dead and another remains in critical condition. The incident is under investigation.
