California Attorney General Rob Bonta announced this week that if you've purchased gas in Southern California years ago, you may be entitled some money from a cash settlement.
According to KTLA 5, drivers who purchased gas from February 20, 2015 through November 10, 2015 are able to "submit a claim for payment under a state settlement with gas trading firms for 'tampering with and manipulating prices for California gasoline.'" In the settlement, trading firms Vitol Inc., SK Energy Americas Inc., and SK's parent company agreed to pay $50 million to settle the antitrust lawsuit even though the companies did not admit to breaking any laws. Those who are interested in submitting a claim must do so online by January 8, 2025.
