Amazon Plans to Open Clothing Store

Amazon has been a competition for retail stores in malls due to the rise of online shopping. Now Amazon has plans to open a clothing store in Southern California.

According to KTLA 5, Amazon is planning to open a clothing store later this year. The store will be selling women's and men's clothing along with shoes and other accessories. The store will be opening at the Americana at Brand in Glendale, California.

This poses a threat to current retailers because Amazon will be showing recommendations to shoppers as they scan the items that they see. Shoppers will be able to fill out an online survey about their preferences when it comes to their style and fit.

The store will include digital features such as scanning a QR code to see the different sizes, colors, and ratings on the clothing as well as requesting items from a touchscreen while in the fitting room. Shoppers will be able to send items to the fitting room directly or to the check out counter. The store will have a huge number of clothing styles available because only one item will be on display while the rest of the inventory will be in the back room.

It will be interesting to see how Amazon will successfully execute their clothing store in person, but until then we can continue shopping online at Amazon.com.
