Elvis Duran Sponsors Christmas Tree For The U.S. Capitol

'Tis the season to get a tree for Christmas!

This year, the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree will be provided by The Carson National Forest in Red River, New Mexico. It is a Blue Spruce tree that is 68 years old and 60 feet tall. On Wednesday, November 6th, there will be the tree cutting ceremony, which is free and open to the public. The ceremony will begin at 9:00 am MST (11:00 am EST) and will be live-streamed on Facebook @uscapitolchristmastree and @CarsonNF. Refreshments will be served. After the tree is cut, the tree will be loaded onto a trailer to be transported out of the forest. The cross-country tour kicks off next Monday, November 11th, and will be making 30 stops across the country via New Mexico, Texas, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee and Virginia before heading to Washington DC. People can follow the tree's journey on www.capitoltreetracker.com. At 12:00 pm MST, a community celebration will be held at the Red River Convention Center to also celebrate Smokey Bear's 75th Anniversary. The U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree is made possible by cash and donations, volunteers, and sponsors, such as Elvis Duran and Alex Carr
