MMA Star Conor McGregor Motivates Bruins To Overtime Win

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Bruins returned home Saturday from an 0-3 road trip. They needed a change—a spark!

Enter Conor McGregor.

The notorious MMA fighter flew in for the B's St. Patrick's Day celebration—his first ever hockey game—and he can motivate.

"Remember, nothing heroic gets done without support, without unity," he told the B's. "Look left, look right. Know that these people that are with you are your brothers. These are the people you need to fight for. Fight until victory. Boys, I wish you the best. This is your arena. Take no prisoners!"

Bruins bested the Blue Jackets 2-1 in overtime and, fittingly, Brad Marchand celebrated with the McGregor strut after scoring the winning goal.

McGregor loved the experience.

"Wow, how about that?" he said. "Exhilarating from start to finish—where's me skates?"

McGregor stuck around town to attend yesterday's St. Patty's Day parade in South Boston.
