This is certainly NOT good news. On Thursday it was announced that John Krasinski had sold the rights to Some Good News to ViacomCBS following a massive bidding war. Krasinski will not be returning as the show's host.
The Hollywood Reporter and Variety report Krasinski has inked a deal with CBS/Viacom that would Krasinski’s feel-good YouTube series that highlights positive stories during the pandemic to their CBS All Access platform.
But does this really benefit the viewer at all? Hosting for free on YouTube to the world was an incredible thing for fans all over the world, but now the show will live behind a pay wall for Americans-only, and you don't even get Krasinski!
This leaves so many fans of the show wondering just what happened with this wholesome show. Did it become too much for John? Had he done all he wanted with it and wanted to get the most out of his creation as possible?
Either way, Some Good News will never be the same.
