Chipotle Is Testing Walk Up Windows At Select Locations

A Chipotle Restaurant Ahead Of Earnings Data

Chipotle recently announced they'd be experimenting with drive up windows called "Chipotlanes" at certain locations. While that news was certainly exciting, the fast casual restaurant may have just topped themselves with another exciting announcement.

According to Nation's Restaurant News, Chipotle is testing out walk-up windows at select locations. The first walk-up window opened in Chicago, Illinois on December 19. Two additional walk-up windows are reportedly being tested in Cincinnati, Ohio and Phoenix, Arizona.

While Chipotle hasn't revealed much more about the walk-up windows coming to their restaurants, they've opened up about their plans for the "Chipotlanes" in the coming months. “While we are staying true to Chipotle’s heritage, we are also excited to integrate new, innovative physical features into the restaurant that complement our growing digital business,” Chipotle Chief Development Officer Tabassum Zalotrawala told Nation's Restaurant News in a statement.

Not only are they experimenting with walk-up windows and drive through lanes, Chipotle may also install pick up shelves for customers who order ahead of time.
