'SNL' Finally Addressed Pete Davidson's Absence This Season

Colossal Clusterfest - Colossal Stage - Day 2

Saturday Night Live is currently two episodes into its 45th season and star Pete Davidson has yet to make an appearance. The long-running sketch comedy show didn't address Pete's mysterious absence during the premiere, leaving fans wondering what's happening behind the scenes. During the second episode, however, Pete's absence was finally addressed with, of course, a joke.

During Saturday's Weekend Update segment, fellow cast member Colin Jost explained why Pete hasn't appeared in the season at all. Instead of revealing where Pete's actually been, Colin joked Pete is “a man who drove his car to a music festival and still cannot remember where he parked his car, a week after the show.”

While Colin's explanation is certainly more LOL-worthy, Pete's actually working on his upcoming film Suicide Squad. Director James Gunn shared a photo of the entire cast catching a showing of another DC Comics Universe film, Joker, during one of SNL's shows.

Colin also added, “well, we hope you make it back soon, Pete,” during Weekend Update. He didn't, however, reveal whether or not Pete will make any appearances this season.
