October is finally here. You know what that means: time to watch all your favorite scary movies. There are a ton of spooky options streaming on Netflix this year, too. While it's hard to pick a favorite Halloween movie, here are 15 of the best scary movies available on Netflix right now:

1) Scream

Scream is mandatory Halloween-season viewing. The perfect mix of funny and scary you won't want this slasher flick to end. Lucky for you, all three Scream sequels are all on Netflix. Happy binge-ing!

2) The Silence

Reminiscent of box office hit A Quiet Place, this Netflix original follows a family as they attempt to survive in a post-apocalyptic world where monsters hunt humans by sound. The film is based on a book by the same name. The talented cast, including Stanley Tucci and Kiernan Shipka, should be enough to draw you in.

3) Perfect Stranger

Who wouldn't want to watch Halle Berry and Bruce Willis co-star in a tense thriller? Perfect Stranger follows Berry as she tries to figure out the mystery of her best friend's death.

4) Gerald's Game

After woman accidentally kills her husband during a kinky game, she's left handcuffed to her bed with no hope of rescue. Soon, she begins hearing voices and seeing strange visions. Stranded in their remote vacation home, the woman will have to find a way to escape before it's too late. Need another reason to check this one out? It's based on Stephen King's 1992 novel of the same name. They don't call Stephen King the "king of horror" for nothing.

5) 1922

Netflix sure loves Stephen King adaptations. The streaming giant adapted King's novel 1922, which follows a a farmer who convinces his son to help him murder his wife. Their actions haunt them for years to come.

6) Hush

A deaf writer living alone in the woods faces off against a masked home invader determined to kill her. This movie will leave you holding your breath until its thrilling final moments.

7) The Open House

A teenager, played by 13 Reason's Why's Dylan Minnette, and his mom find themselves dealing with unnerving occurrences after they move into a family member's secluded mountain chalet until it sells after falling on hard times. Be warned, though: the ending will leave viewers divided.

8) The Invitation

The premise is simple: a man’s ex-wife invites him to a dinner party. Viewers quickly learn, though, that her intentions for him and the rest of her guests are not what they seem.

9) Bird Box

Anyone with a Netflix subscription has most likely seen Bird Box already. Halloween is the perfect time to revisit this intense, horror thriller about monsters you can't look at without being killed or going crazy. Sandra Bullock and Mahershala Ali both give powerhouse performances, too.

10) The Witch

Heralded as one of the scariest movies of all time, The Witch might be a film you want to watch with the lights on. In 1630 New England, the townsfolk believe a witch has cursed one of the families. After the cursed family is banished, terrifying incidents ensue. Remember: lights on.

Don't be fooled by Coraline being classified as a children's film: this movie will give you nightmares for days. Directed by Tim Burton, Coraline follows a young girl who finds a passage into an alternate dimension. While things seem fun and exciting at first, they quickly turn dark and terrifying. Coraline will have to fight for her life to find her way back home.

12) Insidious

The first installment of the wildly popular (and wildly scary!) Insidious franchise is necessary viewing for any horror fan. A happy family thinks they've escaped their troubles by moving out of a haunted house immediately after supernatural occurrences begin, only to discover it's actually one of their kids who's haunted.

13) Carrie

This classic horror film, based on the classic horror novel by Stephen King, is often referred to as one of the seminal horror films. There's just something about a telekinetic teen hell bent on revenge that horror fans can't resist.

14) The Sixth Sense

Though most people already know the once jaw dropping twist that comes at the end of this classic horror film, the journey getting there is still worth a watch. The film follows an award-winning child psychologist as he tries to help a young boy who claims he can see dead people.

15) The Conjuring

The fact that The Conjuring is based on a true story makes it all the more terrifying. The Perron family experiences a series of unsettling events after they move into a secluded farm house. When things escalate, they call in a pair of paranormal experts to help them.
