Over the past few years, Hardwell has become a strong force in dance music. Aside from traveling the world, performing at the biggest festivals, launching and running his label Revealed, and of course creating addicting music, he's attracted an enormous and loyal fan base. But he's not stopping there! There is more coming in 2013 and beyond from Hardwell, and we caught up with him at Ultra Music Festival where he told us about it! Check out what the spaceman had to say:

How did Ultra weekend one go?

Really good! Like that was my best set, I’ve ever experienced, the whole show. I loved the stage, I loved the crowd, something mental happened. I really prepared a lot of stuff for my set, and everything worked exactly the way I planned in my head. I was so happy, I think you could see me on the live stream, I’m just constantly smiling because I’m just enjoying the moment. I really enjoyed that set.

Are you excited for weekend two?

Definitely yeah. I prepared a totally different set.

How was your label night at Mansion?

That was cool! Yeah the label night was a really good night. It was sold out. And all the guys played amazing sets, Jordy Dazz, Dannic, and Dyro as well. And yeah, we all had a lot of fun. We just ended up all together in the DJ booth, just partying. And the whole atmosphere was there. It was a great night, we really enjoyed it.

What is the best part of being here in Miami this week?

I think meeting up with all the other DJs again. Because normally we’re touring around, [and] we never have the chance to chill out and grab a drink, and talk about music, and all the other stuff. So that’s the most funny thing in Miami. Everybody is here, everyone’s just having a good time, everybody is meeting up with each other. You just bump into each other. And especially at Ultra, for me it’s really inspirational as well to be here, and listen to the other DJ sets. It’s great! It’s beautiful weather, beautiful people, great atmosphere. Great times!

Tell us about “I am Hardwell?”

“I am Hardwell” is my concert that I launched because I thought it was time to come up with something new. Normally I only have, like an hour [at] a festival, and I think my sound that I’m aiming for, the big room sound – of course big room, it’s for festivals – but I never get the chance to actually play a long set. So that’s why I came up with “I am Hardwell.” Just imagine like an indoor festival, [and] I’m going to play like 3 or 4 hours and really have the chance to take the people on a journey with the sound, and I have like all the guys on Revealed. It’s not going to be like a normal DJ booth, it’s going to be like a whole visual stage. Everything is going to be like LED, a whole custom stage. And the whole stage is really interactive, it’s moving. I wanted everybody in the crowd to be a part of the music and be a part of “I am Hardwell.” It’s something, like, all together. Everybody needs to be connected, and that’s what I’m trying to do with the whole concept.

You’ve played a lot of festivals, and really big ones too. Which has been the most memorable for you?

Yeah, definitely Ultra this year. To me that was the highlight so far of every DJ set I’ve ever played. Of course, Tomorrowland last year was a really good gig as well. It’s hard to pick one. You know, every festival, every club show is different. But, yeah, my highlight definitely so far was Ultra last weekend.

It looks like Revealed is going really well for you. What can we expect from the label this year?

There are a lot of new artists signed on the label, [like] Paris & Simo, Alavaro, all those new guys. Last weekend [at] Ultra I premiered like, I think, eight new tracks that [are] going to be released on Revealed. Yeah, Revealed, the label is doing really well, and we’re going to be doing a lot of label nights as well. So besides “I am Hardwell,” there is still going to be “Hardwell presents Revealed.” “I am Hardwell” is just focusing on my sound and “Hardwell presents Revealed” will always be me and all the new guys. Yeah, a lot of new releases coming up!

What are you working on right now in the studio?

At this point, I’m working on a lot of vocal tracks. I’m working on a collab with Chris James, who I think everybody knows him as the singer from “The Vedlt” with Deadmau5, which I’m really excited about! I’m almost finishing up a collab with W&W, which I actually already played last week – even the demo version. So yeah, there’s a lot going on, a lot of originals as well.

Can we see a Hardwell album anytime soon?

Well I’m thinking about it, but the thing is that I don’t have the time to actually be in the studio for two months, and just finishing up an album [sic]. If I want to come up with an album, I need [it] to be like, very refreshing. And I think I’m still developing my sound, and the moment I’m like 100% satisfied with what I’m working on, that’s the point I’m going to work on an album. But I hope to do an album next year.

If you really were to become a spaceman and go into space, which planet would you visit?

Mars. I think Mars is a great planet!
